Not only was this a great challenge just to get me scrapping, but it’s the boot in the pants I needed to start a project that I’ve been thinking about for a couple years! I’ve got a Pinterest board I’ve been using to collect quotes that are words of advice for my stepdaughter and nieces. I’ve been wanting to create an album where I combine the quotes with short essays where I explain why I feel it’s good advice or sharing some of my personal experience.
I had a photo I shot at a photography workshop that I wanted to play with, but I didn’t have a clear topic in mind. Over the next couple hours, this is what emerged – including some really raw journaling about the longing I have for the children I didn’t think I wanted.
“The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea.”
This hangs in my studio as a reminder; I don’t have to have it all figured out, because God is the one in control.
