I’m a big fan of Design Cuts. They offer discounted design bundles for creative professionals at an 80-95% discount. I’ve picked up ten of their bundles over the past two years, adding thousands of resources to my personal stash. Everything comes with generous licensing terms, so not only can I use them for my personal scrapbooking, but I can also employ them in my random forays into the design world.
For their 2nd birthday, Design Cuts is running an Epic Birthday Giveaway, and I decided, what the hell – I’ll enter. “…we’re looking for your best birthday themed designs! Any design to help celebrate our 2nd birthday is eligible, whether it’s a poster, greeting card, or illustration.”
To create this image, I used Salamander Script (from 21 Best Selling Beautiful Fonts) along with Gotham (to approximate the Design Cuts logo). I used several chalk styles as well as a stock photo for the chalkboard. Creating the 2 was labor-intensive, but fun: I used “Layered Sticky Notes” by Mommyish combined with sample images from their 2015 bundles (warp transform, clipped to post-it, with overlay blending mode). My goal was to create an image that represented the wide range of delicious design goodness they make available through their bundles. As the caption reads, they truly are Enabling Design Addicts!
