In late June, we traveled to the Big Island of Hawaii to celebrate the wedding of two of our dearest friends, Tim and Rose. As I worked my way through the photographs I shot of their wedding, an image of their flower girl jumped out at me. I thought, “You know, this looks like one of those vintage Hawaiian postcards. I wonder…”
And this is the result.
I used the tutorial on split-toning in the January 2013 issue of Photoshop User magazine (“Going Retro”, p45) to get that old-timey sepia and silvery-blue look. Then I combined it with textures from my stash and added a title in one of my favorite fonts (Letrista Script), et voila!
